Actor Sonusood,who is shooting in the city for his next film with Nagarjuna,talks about his"second innings" in bollywood and how he owes a lot to Hyderabad
we hear,you still haven`t recovered from the injury you sustained while playing for the celebrity cricket league?
Yes,my right leg is still swollen and it troubles me while climbing stairs!although the doctor had told me that it would take at least six months to heal, I was back in action within two months and I`m quite happy about it.
your latest Bollywood outing shootout at wadala, did well at the BO.Has this film taken your career a step ahead considering your movies haven`t been faring too well at the BO since dabangg?
The kind of appreciaion i got after shootout..was amazing. I got calls from almost everybody from the industry and let me tell you,playing Dawood`s character was very challenging.But I`m glad i was abl to pull it off. Although John did a brilliant job,every actor who works hard for a film,contribus to its success.for insstance,Dabangg was a total salman khan film,tanks to his character,Chulbul pandey...but then,there was chhedi singh also.your role should be liked a pillar that makes the film complete.
Any plans to work with salman again?
It was my decsion not to do dabangg 2 as i was not happy and convinced with the role i was offered and salman bhai understood it.there are no future projects as such now,but salman calls me every and then in the midddle of the night saying,`kya kar raha hai,aaja`.And he knows what kind of work i can do,so he`ll call me when he thinks i`m required.I`m just one phone call away to salman khan.
You are juggling quite successfully between bollywood and tolllywood...?
Well,i consider my self Lucky to have managed to carve a niche in all the industries.I`ve worked in till now,especially bollywood and tollywood.When i had come here, i did not even know a single person,but i was welcomed with open arms.
Now that you have carved your niche in tollywood,don`t you wish to play lead roles?
Frankly speaking, from day one,I`ve been offered solo leads,but i did not take up any of them.For me,it has to be the right script and the right director before i launch myself in tollywood in a lead role.
